The Road Ahead...

In The Road Ahead… you play as a group of young adults returning to their hometown for a summer of fun, parties and nostalgia. After one of their close friends suddenly disappears, new and old feelings stir, eventually getting them involved in the case. Through the carefree lens of an eighteen-something, uncover the truth and make sure it is the best summer of your life!

In The Road Ahead..., you perform decisive actions and interactions rolls when there is uncertainty in the fiction. You add cards to your hand when your decisive actions succeed, burn them to gain momentum, and, most importantly, continually collaborate in moving the story in interesting directions.

To play you will need:

• A standard deck of playing cards (without Jokers).
• A full set of polyhedral dice.
• This book, Emerald Grove’s map and one flowchart*.
• 2 to 5 friends, with one of them acting as game moderator (GM).
• A couple of hours per session.

* It is recommended for game moderators to organize their story using a flowchart, and give one (empty) version for the players to fill as the story advances. Some choices can be changed using some character's powers.

The Road Ahead... book includes hand drawn illustrations, scanned watercolor stains, scanned objects, pen/pencil sketches and copyright free images. 100% of the book's design was made with free assets!
